Lovingly restored fisherman’s houses 200 m from the beach

The house is located in the upper quiet part of the old town of Salema on a small hill with a view of the town and the Atlantic Ocean to Sagres. The distance to the sea and the beach promenade is 2 minutes on foot. A small private path branches off from the Altstadtstrasse directly to the holiday home. Here you can relax undisturbed, look at the sea and Salema and enjoy the sun all day until sunset.

The old town of Salema has retained its typical Portuguese character. Many houses have been restored or reconstructed. The beach, from which numerous fishing boats depart every day, is also natural. Here you can still watch the fishermen up close at work. The beach promenade offers numerous restaurants and bars with seats directly in front of the Atlantic.

The holiday home consists of a total of 3 adjacent former fishermen’s houses, which were structurally connected to each other. They have been elaborately and lovingly restored in the Portuguese style and renovated and refurnished in 2018. The large terrace and the barbecue area are decorated with Moorish mosaics. All rooms have direct access to the south-west terrace, where you will find the barbecue area and a large dining area with a marble bench and table. Longchairs made of teak with cushions are available to relax. Another outdoor area offers a wonderful view of the sea.

The entire house is flooded with light. In addition to the windows and doors, which are fitted with shutters in traditional Portuguese style, the living room is also illuminated by 4 skylights. The entire interior and the color scheme of the individual rooms have been lovingly designed.

You simply have to see this house to be captivated by its uniqueness.

The bedroom is separated from the rest of the living area by large double doors. Next to the bedroom there is another room that can be used as a dressing area, but also offers the possibility to set up another bed. Steps lead from the bedroom to the next level, where the bathroom (shower, vanity, toilet and bidet) is located. In addition, the open kitchen area (fridge / freezer, electric stove and oven, sink, etc.) with work desk and large dining area is arranged on this level. From here a gallery leads into the living room. The gallery has a sofa bed, so that 1-2 additional sleeping spaces can be realized here. A staircase finally leads to the living room with seating, satellite TV, DVD, etc. A special highlight is the fireplace, which in addition to the visible fire in the winter months also heats the areas above if necessary.

Behind the living room under the gallery there is another separate area in which there is a double bed and thus offers 2 additional sleeping options.

The floors are also covered with traditional Portuguese tiles. The gallery has a plank floor.

The lovingly landscaped garden offers a high degree of peace and privacy.

Shops (supermarket), bread and fish stalls and numerous great regional restaurants and bars are within walking distance.
